The central tenet of the “Anybody-But-Romney” conservative theology is this article of faith: Nominating the former Massachusetts governor will take away the Republican Party’s best 2012 issue — because “Romneycare” is so like “Obamacare.” ABR true believers lump the two plans together, with the epithet “Obamneycare.”

This conservative faith is wrong, however. To the extent that attacks on President Barack Obama’s health care reform are good politics, the candidate best able to make them is Mitt Romney.

Since he orchestrated and then signed the Massachusetts health care law, Romney is uniquely qualified to lead the GOP attacks against the federal health care reform bill. 

Why? He would be the first GOP nominee in nearly 50 years with a proven track record on health care who has been praised by Democrats — including the president — as fair and compassionate. He can’t be demonized as an out-of-touch, uncompassionate, hard-right ideologue on this issue.

Porn star Megan Piper banned from Minnesota teen Mike Stone's high school prom

A PLAN for a dream date to prom ended with a trip to the principal's office for one heartbroken Minnesota high school student. 
 
Fed up with receiving rejections from his female classmates, 18-year-old Mike Stone took to Twitter to ask adult film stars if they would accompany him.

After more than 600 tweets, Mike received a provisional "yes" from porn star Megan Piper - on the condition that he paid for her air fare from Los Angeles to Oakdale, Minnesota.

 

But school officials have stopped the teenager's fantasy from becoming a reality.

Patty Phillips, superintendent of the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District, said that Piper, 19, would be prohibited from attending the dance because her appearance would be "inconsistent" with two district policies pertaining to visitors to school buildings and sites, according to Fox News.

The policy states that anyone can be denied entry to those events if the visit is "not in the best interest" of the district.

 

Stone, who had been trying to raise $400 for Piper's ticket after she had replied, "If you can get me there, then yes," will undoubtedly be disappointed by the school's decision.

He told website Daily Dot: "I was just thinking of doing something new. I was like, let's try it out and see if it works.

"I just think they're really cute and I wish I had one for a prom date."

 

Megan missed out on her own high school prom because she moved from Georgia to Kansas in her senior year.

After news of his search became the top post on social news site Reddit at the weekend, Mike received more than 750 Twitter followers overnight.

Neither his parents or his school knew about his quest, or that Megan had accepted - a situation that has undoubtedly changed now Mike's search has become an Internet sensation.

 

He still hopes to be able to smuggle Megan into the dance should any problems arise.

He said: "One of the teachers who works at my school is a security guard. He was telling me, if I brought a girl from a different school or anything, he would help me out and let them in for free."

The situation recalls the 2004 comedy The Girl Next Door starring Emile Hirsch and Elisha Cuthbert, in which a teenage boy falls in love with his neighbour only to discover she is a former porn star.

 

Other ladies who Mike asked to be his prom date on Twitter include actresses Eva Angelina, Madelyn Marie and Bree Olson, one of Charlie Sheen's live-in girlfriends.

Porn star Megan Piper has accepted an invitation to be prom date for Mike Stone, an 18-year-old high school senior from Minnesota after her asked her via Twitter in a post and story that has gone viral.

According to The Daily Mail, Stone was "fed up" with being rejected by his female classmates and sent requests to porn stars via Twitter to accompany him to prom on May 12.

"I was just thinking of doing something new. I was like, let's try it out and see if it works," Stone told the Daily Dot. "I just think they're really cute and I wish I had one for a prom date."

Stone sent more than 600 tweets to various porn stars, asking for a date for the evening, which included the likes of Jenna Jameson, Eva Angelina and Bree Olson in addition to Piper. 

Lucky for Stone, 19-year-old Piper accepted. Under the condition he fronts money for her transportation from Los Angeles to Oakdale, Minn.

"If you can get me there, then yes. :)" Piper responded to Stone via Twitter on Saturday, excited since she missed her own senior prom when she moved from Georgia to Kansas in her final year of high school.

 

"I thought it was really cute, and I thought it would make his night by saying 'yes'," Piper told The Huffington Post.

However, 18-year-old Stone is out of cash and is looking for a way to raise the money for airfare, unbeknown to his parents.

"I don't have money though for a plane ticket," Stone told Piper on Twitter, before asking friends to help raise the money.

 

Piper isn't the only porn star to have accepted his invitation, though. According to Twitter, Emy Reyes also agreed to attend.

"Awww that's reappear hun and i would love tooo," Reyes said.

But there will be no battle of the porn stars here, as Piper is perfectly fine with Reyes coming along too.

 

"If she decided she wanted to go, too, that would be really cool," Piper told the Huffington Post.

Since news of Stone's prom proposal hit the Internet on Redditch.com, Stone has accumulated more than 800 Twitter followers over night as a viral sensation.

It looks like Mike Stone even has a backup plan, in case he is stood up by the porn star or if his school doesn't permit her to attend.

Another potential problem for Stone could be Piper's boyfriend, whom she says is aware of the prom invitation and encouraged her to go.

The trend of asking celebrities and figures out via social media websites began Last November when actress Mila Kunis accepted an invitation to the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, N.C. after Sgt. Scott Moore requested her presence via a YouTube video. The same month, Kunis' "Friends with Benefits" co-star Justin Timberlake was the date for Cpl. Kelsey De Santis for the Basic School Instructor Battalion 236th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in Richmond, Va.

Mike Stone has been denied his prom date after school officials discovered the 18-year-old's plans to bring a porn star to the dance.

Although it may seem like one Minnesota school has crushed a young boy's dream of bringing his dream celebrity to prom after she has already agreed to go, the fact is the Stone wasn't all that selective about who he wanted to bring.

In an effort to get just about any porn start that he could find to prom, Stone tweeted a number of different X-rated actresses on Twitter hoping that at least one would say yes. Two agreed to go.

Megan Piper agreed to accompany the 18-year-old boy to his prom in Oakdale, Minnesota if he agreed to pay for her flight from Los Angeles, Calif. Piper also added a bit of heartfelt sentimentality.

"I thought it was really cute, and I thought it would make his night by saying 'yes'," Piper stated, adding that she was excited to make the high school dance after missing her own prom.

However, local school district superintendent Patty Phillips came forward after Stone's plans were discovered and banned Piper from attending the school prom. Phillips cited that Piper's appearance would be "inconsistent" with the school's expectations from visitors.

Stone had sent nearly 600 Twitter invitations.

Jennifer McNeil, a representative for the school district, told The Huffington Post that the school had the right to ban visitors according to its guidelines. The rules state that guests can be denied admission to school events if "the visit is not in the best interest of students, employees or the school district," or if it "substantially disrupts the orderly operation of school or school activities," McNeil said.
